The Bird HouseThe Bird House takes you into the lives of a family affected by heritage conservation. Two brothers oppose one another’s attempts to exploit their gazetted house in the historical city of Melaka. The uncouth Hua hopes to venture into the birds’ nest market - but he would have to convert the house into a large bird house, without alerting the authorities. Keat, however, plans to save the home. Meanwhile, the aging father says little but feels everything. Beautifully shot on location in Melaka, The Bird House is the first feature film by Khoo Eng Yow, the director of the acclaimed documentary, Ah Kew The Digger. Review |
